Thanksgiving in Laramie

  1. We had a fun trip to Laramie for thanksgiving. We left Tuesday around 10:30. We got to Laramie just before 5:00. Then we headed out to dinner.

Wednesday after lunch we headed to Fort Collins, Colorado to meet Dylan’s friend Jim and his wife Sara for dinner. We had to cut our evening short in order to make it back to Laramie before a snow storm. We didn’t see snow but we encountered some freezing drizzle.

Thursday morning Dylan and Blake took Liam and Everett snowshoeing. Then Dylan came back and the 5 of us got to go. But by the time we got there, the temperature had dropped to 3 degrees. (Even colder if you factor in wind chill.) The boys hands were cold before we even hit the trail. We lasted maybe 10 minutes before heading back.

We had a delicious thanksgiving dinner. We had prime rib instead of turkey – so delicious! Blake and Katrina’s wonderful friends joined us for dinner. We had a lovely time.

Friday morning Katrina and I went snowshoeing. When we got back, Dylan and Blake went cross country skiing. Kyler spent the morning and afternoon on the sofa feeling sick. Not unusual for him when we travel. By the time the guys got back, Kyler was feeling better so we all went swimming. (Except for Blake who stayed behind to work.)

Saturday morning the guys went skiing again while Katrina and I canned some applesauce. Then we headed downtown for lunch and small business Saturday. Katrina and I went to the yarn store and I picked up some supplies so I can attempt to make Dylan a sweater. Thanks for the early Christmas gift Katrina! We also gkt ice cream and went to the toy store. When we got back, Dylan and Blake took the older boys outside to play in the snow.

We headed home Sunday after breakfast. The kitties were happy to see us. Thanks Alani and Airi for making sure they were well fed while we were gone.

****At one point during the trip I asked the boys what they were thankful for.
Riley: I’m thankful that God made the world
Kyler: I’m thankful for love***

God bless!!!
