The first time I went camping was with Dylan. We went with his friends who do not have kids.

After we had Riley and Kyler, camping could be a somewhat stressful experience, especially while camping with friends who did not have kids. Since moving to Utah we have only gone camping a few times, and always just us. We had an opportunity to meet up with Dylan’s brother Blake and my nephews earlier this week. Because of some commitments that neither Dylan or Blake could move, we had a very small window. We almost cancelled to try for a date in July. But I really wanted to go so I suggested camping. Our new Sequoia does not have much cargo room. We purchased a roof box for it but that would most likely only hold clothes and sleeping bags. U-haul did not have any pods to rent and their trailers could only be towed at 55mph. I finally convinced Dylan to do what I’ve wanted to do for a long time. We rented a pop up trailer. We lucked out that there was one available on the days we needed. So off we went!!!! It was so wonderful! The boys had a great time with their cousins. I hope to be able to do this a few times each summer/fall. Hopefully next time Katrina can join us.
